Design & Estimating Technician

A superb opportunity for an experienced Design & Estimating Technician to join a leading UK supplier of staircases, windows and doors. For more than a decade, we have worked in partnership with several of the UK's leading house builders, property developers and the general public. We are now looking to expand our customer base and a key appointment is required to support our next level of growth.

THE COMPANY

Central Joinery Group is comprised of three divisions, each specialising in manufacturing an extensive range of high quality, beautifully crafted & responsibly sourced timber products.

In 2004 and 2008, we opened two purpose built-facilities, representing an investment of over £1.75m. Our environmentally friendly Swadlincote sites are strategically located at the heart of the country, close to major road networks, ensuring reliable nationwide deliveries through our modern vehicle fleet.

Continually striving for a lower carbon footprint Central Joinery Group has installed both solar panel and biomass heating systems to heat our factories environments, therefore utilising the waste materials generated and reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

Reporting to the Sales Manager you will be expected to:

  • Process, design and follow up on all customer enquiries by providing detailed quotes and drawings
  • Reading and understanding of customer specifications through drawings and enquiries
  • Manage CRM through Sales enquiries and quotes
  • Provide detailed drawings to support in manufacturing of orders
  • Follow up on outstanding actions with Customers and Sales team in order to receive relevant information
  • Provide general support to Customers upon arrival to site
  • Provide support to the Sales Manager when required

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

To be successful in the role, we are looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Design & Estimating Technician within a Joinery/Staircase environment would be advantageous
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, in particular)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of Staircon design package
  • Full understand of building regulations relating to staircases
